The show revolves around getais, and how two friends, played by mindee ong and yeo yann yann, aspire to be getai singers but are not too talented, until they were blessed by the "fairy godmother".The show is quiet & noisy, solemn & comical, down to earth & fantasy all at the same time. It is so ironical, yet it is so sensible at the same time too.
The mood of the show is built on how the late Chen Jin Lang loves the getai and said that he wants to live and die on the stage if possible. The 'little papaya' in the show eventually died, and it kind of echoed how CJL bonds himself the the getais.
With that, the atmosphere is mainly depressing and it won tears out of me. But the computer effects that were used to protray the fantasy aspects of the show are very obsolete, and it had me rolling my eyes so hard that it nearly dropped out.
But the costumes and the songs of the show are very nice and I absolutely love the theme song, Yi Ren Yi Ban by Wu Jia Hui.
The show is worth a watch, so catch it and support the local talents! =)
