Folding paper 7 times

I had known it since long long ago, that we cant fold a piece of paper more than 7 times. Ok ok, I know somebody folded 12times, and I know Mythbuster folded a piece of paper the size of a few basketball court.

But a normal person like me is satisfied with the 7 times theory.

However, do you know if anyone is able to fold a piece of paper 50 times, it would reach the sun! I can imagine 50 folds to be extremely thick, but all the way to the sun?

Always skeptical, I calculated it on excel.

At 50 folds, it would be 5629499.534km in length. Scary~
